STEPHANIE GOOLSBY

Although my family moved a few times during my childhood, I call Caldwell my hometown. I attended the majority of my elementary, middle school and high school years here and graduated from CHS in 1998. The Lord put my family together pretty quickly. He led me to my husband, Tate Goolsby. We where married in 2000 and he gifted us with 3 children; Tristian (now 23), Alexia (20), and James (LJ)(19). Tate and I just celebrated our twenty-second year of marriage. Both girls have followed my love of teaching and caring for children our son is a certified welder and is currently working with a construction team around the Houston area; where he stays busy building new homes and flipping and remolding old ones.

This will be my 11th year, all together, being blessed working for the Lord through First Baptist School. My journey started when our oldest of 3 children attended as a Wee 3 student. I couldn’t bear being away from her, so I started serving as a volunteer and then eventually as a sub and an aide for 8 glorious years. Then our family had to relocate because of my husband’s occupation. During that time I taught 1-4 year old’s at a Mother’s Day Out program before switching to work in the Nutrition Department for Santa Fe Junior High. Later, I was blessed to work with a special needs high school student. The Lord then declared He was ready to bring our family back to Caldwell. I immediately reached out to First Baptist School in hopes of returning to a job I love, not to mention, it is also where my mother teaches. In the 3 years that I have been back to FBS, I have been blessed to be the hands and feet of the Lord through many different areas. I have served in the lunch room, After School Care, as a Computer teacher, PE teacher, Art teacher, Volleyball coach, History teacher, and a Bible teacher. I have to say that I have enjoyed them all, but if I had to pick my favorites would first be morning curb drop-off Greeter & Helper. I love to see each of our student’s smiling faces in the morning. The second is teaching Bible. I love the Lord, and I’m always happy to have the opportunity to share His Word with our students and help them see how it applies to their life. The third would be as a Content Mastery Aide. This has given me the opportunity to sit down, on a one-on-one basis with students and get to know them personally. I enjoy getting to see their eyes light up and their hearts fill with joy when they understand for the first time how to complete a task. For the 2022/2023 school year, I have been blessed to serve in all three of my favorites.

When I am not at First Baptist School, I am working on getting my Elementary teaching degree through Blinn. My favorite food is almost any kind of Mexican food. My favorite holiday is Christmas because of what it stands for and because I love seeing all the decorations. It gives me an excuse to entertain and cook for family and friends, which is one of my favorite pastimes. The Bible verse that I try to remember through the good or bad times is Psalm 46:5; “God is within her, she will not fall.” If I always apply this to my life, I will be able to walk in the light with Christ and accomplish all things in His will.
